The Aukrug Nature Park app, “Aukruger WEG” (which in German stands for “Hiking, Discovering, and Enjoying” offers hikers many options for experiencing Aukrug Nature Park.
The app includes 10 beautiful trails through the entire nature park. In addition to fascinating information about the flora and fauna at particular points of the trails, hikers also receive tips for refreshments and events in the area.
Two trails have been specially developed for children, to encourage them to develop their observational skills. They’ll need to keep their eyes open as they walk through the forest in order to answer the questions on the quiz. The children’s trails are located in the Boxberg forest nature trail in the Störkathener Heath forest discovery trail.
The app is available for free in the app store for both Android and iOS. Tips: Download the app and maps for each route in advance, since the park’s Internet connection is either poor or non-existent. The app also works without mobile signal.
