From roots to treetops – fun in the woods at Trappenkamp Adventure Forest. This large, family-friendly destination lies on the edge of the Segeberger Woods, and includes the largest wildlife preserve in the north. The playground is gigantic too, and offers fun and relaxation for both young and old visitors.

It also has an exceptional number of grilling pavilions and open fireplaces, making it the perfect spot for nice picnic. You can also visit the falconry (from March to October daily, except Mondays, 11 AM to 3 PM) or the large boar feeding station (March to October daily, 2 PM). If the weather is bad, head to the Forest Fantasy World, a 300 m² indoor paradise for children. In the summer especially, the largest open-air butterfly garden in the north is a unique, flowery paradise, with countless, often rare butterflies on view. If you’re looking for some sport, and you’re brave, climb up the 30m high Team Tower, the largest, fully wooden tower in Schleswig-Holstein. From here, follow 300m long rope course over the treetops! The boar safari is a little more comfortable, since you ride in a carriage. All this activity works up an appetite – luckily, the Waldküchenmeister (“Forest Chef”) serves up a hearty menu.
