On this country golf course near Bad Bramstedt, you don’t need a handicap or checkered trousers to try a game of golf. It’s all about having fun together, regardless of your age.

In golfcross, players use oval balls resembling mini American footballs. In this blend of golf and football, players must hit the golf ball into a net that hangs from a pole above the ground.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time perfecting your technique, grab your clubs and play a game of Auenland golf. A special club was actually developed for this game, which involves hitting a golf ball-like rubber ball into a hole the size of a bucket.

Sweden’s hit contribution: Football golf. 12 challenging fairways, in which each player receives a leather ball, and tees off. Using only their feet, of course. Whoever gets the ball in the hole with the least amount of steps wins. After trenches, long shots and bathtubs, the 12th hole is in a porta-potty...

But don’t fear, there’s also plenty of traditional golf to play in Wiemersdorf. Instructors can teach you the right technique on the 6-hole course, or you can practice your swing on the driving range. There’s also a lot of other things to do for kids and those who just care for golf: grilling, lawn bowling, horseshoe throwing, as well as a playground and children’s tricycles.

After the game, relax in the golf course’s cafe.

Entry fees: between 7.50 € and 14 €; based on age and what game you choose; children under age 6 get in free.
