Visitors get an exciting and brand-new perspective on the Kiel Canal sluice, Brunsbüttel´s tourist attraction, at the sluice information centre (SchleusenInfoZentrum - SiZ). In the centre of the building, you can see the sluice chamber no. 5 It is built on the sluice island between two highly sensitive sluices, both built over 100 years ago. Specially trained sluice guides lead groups through the grounds. The tour then continues into the SIZ, where the guide shares insight about the activities of the huge site using real-time cameras, models, and modern media. From March to October, as part of public tours on different days, drop-in visitors who arrive at the SIZ at 2 PM can go on a tour of the sluice.
